Today, I completed a course taught by Sheila on using light and shadows to create mood and drama in an image and on how to combine a series of images to effectively tell a visual story. The course included an interactive online presentation that was followed the next day by an in person photo walk with Sheila. I learned several new techniques and had a good time, a great combination.

Sheila is an amazing photographer and teacher. She shares her passion and thought processes in her webinars. She gets participants in the webinars to think about what they are trying to convey in the photograph and challenges them to take their photography to the next level. She is one of the best instructors I have encountered.

Shelia has a passion for photography and loves to show that in her photos and teaching that to others. She teaches techniques and new ways to look at a subject in order to help the photographer expand their skills and become a better photographer. She takes the time to spend with each person to help them understand the concepts and they can take them going forward and apply them to all aspects of their photography. I will take many more classes with Shelia. Learn something new each time.

Sheila is a gifted photographer, a dedicated motivator and a quality friend. Her talent at capturing life is only surpassed by her love of it. She is the only one I take my kids to get their photos taken because she captures them in the best light. I encourage every photographer I know to spend some time with Sheila. The world needs more of that magic!!

Shelia is a creative photographer and an excellent teacher. I appreciate that she focuses on authenticity as opposed to dwelling on the technical aspects of photography. As a non-creative individual, she has taught me to be true to myself. She is nurturing and always willing to give her time and experience. She is a gem.

Sheila Guevin is an inspiration. I look forward to her Photo Society meeting every month because she always has mind opening information to share or a perspective (visual and intellectual) that did not occur to me. She is also incredibly supportive, giving constructive feedback in a positive manner.

I got to know Sheila through her Meetup group and have been attending her Meetup events for 2.5 years. Sheila is an excellent instructor who constantly challenges us to be more creative in photography. Now, whenever I take a photo, I need to think whether I am following the 5 basic composition rules and whether my photos are telling a story coherently. In summary, I learned a lot, including making all kinds of fun collage photos. I truly enjoyed Sheila’s Meetup sessions, every single time!

One the best things about working with Sheila is that she consistently pushes you to recognize your own limitations and then work with you to push beyond them. I found her photo group on Meetup and was able to attend a couple of in person events before COVID and was immediately impressed with her very direct approach to discussing and framing one's photography from and artistic point of view. She is always polite and always respectful, especially when providing some critique if one requests it of her. If one wants to learn new things and expand their ability with their photography, Sheila will provide excellent direction and encouragement to expand existing boundaries.

Sheila Guevin was a pleasure to work with. My pics came out perfectly and she has the best energy ever. As a fellow photographer, her photography group really pushes your imagination and to explore different photo techniques that you typically do not use. Lastly, she’s a phenomenal mentor.
